This evil dog...

So I just pull in the driveway getting back from my grandmother's house and this dog across the street starts runnin at me. They never keep the damn thing on a leash, and he's big. He runs across the street, into our driveway, and just stops. I don't think much about it and go outside to set up my telescope for tonights Mars viewing. I'm workin, and it comes again. I just keep minding my own buisness when it comes up and just about bites me. Luckily it didn't kill my scope. ($300+ in that thing). What LEGAL (I emphasise that because this is ATOT...😛) things can I do to teach this damn thing a lesson?! It's really pissing me off. I can't call Animal Control because I live in the county, and I'm only 17. Don't have a paintball gun and can't buy one at Walmart until I'm 18 (err.)

CLIFFS:
1) Dog threatens me in my own driveway
2) Dog almost bites me while I set up my telescope in my driveway
3) Damn things NEVER on a chain
4) Legal recourses?

you could call the police - if it's on your property and threatening you that's completely within your rights.

anyways, where are your guns? American + Country living = well armed!

I kid, I kid 😛

Just call the cops when its not on a leash.
I call the cops whenever the neighbor's dog doesn't stop barking hours on end. He's been fined over $300 over the course of a year. Cops will give a sh*t if it is a nuisance to the community.

LoL

Do you just call 911? Isn't that for strict emergencies? I got my p90 airsoft gun. Thinkin about gettin some paintballs from Walmart really quick and have a party...

He is 17, he can't really do anything about it. If it was me I'd talk to the owners first, if they didn't listen, I'd shoot it next time it tries to bite me.

If only you had a real P90....somtimes it suck to not have the right to bare arms up here, i'd be all over a P90

Mike

Just keep some treats on hand, and next time the dog comes over, offer it a treat, and then tell it Good Boy if it takes the treat. It will see you are not a threat, and its demeanor towards you should change.

If it takes the treat, next time tell it to sit first, then give it a treat and praise it for sitting. Then move on to harder commands.

In a month or so of working like that the dog will be like a loaded gun at your side, and then you can turn it on its owners 🙂

You know, this shouldn't suprise me, but ATOT is filled with some Sick, Sadistic Fvcks. Goddamn.

Hey now mister that's Mr Sick Sadistic Fvck, to you....

Typically a nice solid whack across the nose with a large stick or a similar blunt object will make the dog think twice about provoking similar behavior.

I don't advocate animal cruelty, but I do support acts of determent. Giving them a good thump on the nose will remind them not the mess with you.

I had to do this when running in cross country in high school. We'd run on farm roads and the ornery farm dogs would tear ass out of the yard and go for your ankles as you ran by. After a good couple whacks to the noggin with a stick the dogs never came after us any more.
