I just ordered 3 Sunon 3200rpm 42.5cfm Fans. Two in the front of my case "sucking" air into the case and one blowing at the back of the case near my processor. I hope this is enough so I can finally close my case.

assuming your powersupply exhausts like 20-30cfm, you're dealing with a lot of positive pressure (or wutever they call it)... if you can try to even out the airflow and you'll get better results... if the heat cant get out of the case, it will stay in it and you'll be recirculating the heat

put a chimney fan in the top.. those are cool.. you could attach some ribbons to it.. make it look like your computer has a crazy haircut.. or not.

just reverse...two exhaust one intake....harder to suck out a match.

negative pressure makes the case want to take air in...ie.cooler air.

positive pressure only allows air to move as fast as the exhaust will allow..hot air tends to rise hense stick around..

good luck

I think more than two additional fans is a bit of overkill. My case only has two, in addition to the ps fan, and I run at 23c (room temp 20c). Beyond two is just for show ;-)

well if you have too much exhaust, you'll create a vacuum effect, and the hot air will actually go in through the exhaust fan the same way it went in. or something like that i know people have posted about it though :) just try to get as close to equal pressure and you're all set :)

Would I be worse off using 2 fans than 3? If so I'm selling this 3rd one to a friend.

That's absurd.
Keep your 3 fans.
The best thing (ventilation wise) would be to get an enermax PS or mod your current one to suck in air up fron the CPU area.

The only way that you are going to have an adverse affect from negative pressure (more CFM out than in) is if the rest of your case is sealed tight as a drum. The 6890 has vent holes in several places that will let air into the case to equalize the pressure so in a way you are getting airflow for free. While I agree that equal input/output is good, I actually think that having more output than input is better. There are limits to this however, I wouldn't suggest having any more than a 30 CFM difference. On the other had I would not suggest positive pressure as it tends to create heat pockets.

Eric

BTW: You're engineering draft link points to a picture of the 7890.

EricD that picture on the 2nd link I posted is the closest thing to my case... So you are saying I should have the one in the back suck in and the two in the front blow out?
