Ouch. That has to suck. I would say it needs a tad bit of work yes.

shockingly enough, there is no lower end damage, even though he attempted to crank it as is.

and no, my Cherokee never sees offroad action. I dont like offroading in anything i owe money on! 😀

I wouldn't either! You don't want to make payments on a car that is broken.

How long was it sucking in water?

82 CJ 7 here🙂 Will have to post some pics sometime.

OOps.

Good luck with that one, he's going to have to take the whole thing apart to get all the crud out of there. May as well just rebuild.

He was running lean, or running really hot sparkplugs. The porcelain is ghost-white, not a good thing.

about 2 seconds. He paniced and didnt kill it though. The filter was completely soaked and the throttle body had a nice coating of mud. Looks like he will be getting a stocker kit, though. 🙂

actually, we met up with him about 5 min after it happened. We were in another part of the park when someone mentioned that someone had engine problems. When we pulled up, he was pulling the old plugs to see if that was the issue. Those plugs are brand new. He attempted to crank the engine over with those new plugs, in the hope that it would start. I thought it was stupid.

Here is a pic of the Jeep and the TB

Hahahaha... that "owned" picture is hilarious.

Sucks about the jeep though, he's going to have to take it completely apart before I would even consider cranking that engine again...
