I am selling a new PSP and this is a question I received:

Q: I would like more info on your system... a starting bid of .99 seems fishy. I want to bid but I am worried that its too good to be true... why is the bid so low?

I wanted to say: "Don't worry you moron, you are not going to win the system with $0.99 anyways! This is a freaking auction, not buy now auction!"

But I had to be professional about it. :(

That's almost as stupid as the guy who asked if the XP2500 I was selling had been "hacked."

It's just a starting bid, not like he has a $0.99 buy it now with a $400 shipping charge.

there is nothing wrong with a .99 starting bid. Lower starting bids will attract more people and sometimes start a bidding war among the morons. I've seen people bid something way over what it should be just going back and forth. Must be something insulting about being outbid. (shrug)

Thats why ebay sucks as a buyers market now. This used to happen even back in the good old days sometimes, but with the influx of stupid people used junk going for a price way of retail new is not uncommon at all anymore.
