Darker skin is resistant to UV rays, which helps prevent the breakdown of collagen and elastin (wrinkles and sagginess, basically). I still question his age, but dark-skinned people will usually have better looking skin because, to put it simply, they've got natural sunblock.
I just saw an old acquaintance of mine a couple weeks ago. He's a black guy, and 66 if I remember right. If I didn't know better, I'd have guessed 50. He's spent his life outside, and did a tour in Vietnam. I'd only talk to him on job sites. I'd love to have him as a neighbor. He's probably the coolest person I ever met. Like a blend of Boomer and Perk from the forums here.
