This definitely tops the "Useless hardware that I want" list

Finally, a keyboard that isn't bastardized by the manufacturer playing around with the key arrangements, and it's in that sexy matte black, too.

Only problem is the price 🙁

I doubt a "multi weighted keyboard" would help at all. I don't have any problems with key weight...and the blank keys are easy to do on any black keyboard...

I don't see the point . . . I mean, I know there are other arrangements, but having the wrong letters on the keys can't be worse than having nothing on the keys. at least with a normal keyboard you can switch back for your friends.

Of course, I'm kinda old-school with my keyboard: http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/LordMorpheus/IMG_2163.jpg

The programmable buttons are great. Copy and past with my pinky in just single button presses!! amazing!!
and I've mapped PF1-4 to control my music, and PF11 brings foobar to the front, PF12 unmounts my ipod so I don't have to open it up and right click and whatnot when I'm leaving and want to grab my music for the car. PF5-8 are still unused. I think I'm going to label one "save" and set it to alt-F4.

😉

You find a black keyboard these days that isn't either built like crap or has some stupid, messed up edit pad layout. They don't exist anymore. Furthermore, how do you remove the damn letters? Trust me, I've tried.

woah, leet man....

on regular (non-low profile) keyboards, pinky keys like \ are sort of hard for me :-s I'd buy it if I had DNCASHMAN too

When you push the KB/CAL button in, the numberpad becomes a standalone calculator. AC/ON turns it on and clears it. Just like any other calculator. It works when the keyboard isn't even plugged into the computer (little NiCD battery in there (probably also stores your settings for the PF buttons).

special feature: no windows button!! The little blank thing where the windows button usually is a repeat key for the \ and | characters. Thats right, I have two forward slash buttons! and 8 directional buttons! and a tuuuuurbo.

Eh, you get used to it really fast. Plus, you can program the keyboard any way you wish, both with keys and gestures.

They are nice. When the one I have died at work (my boss gave it to me, I got a new AT-ps/2 converter and now it works), we replaced it with an IBM "clicky." the one I have feels just about the same. Those were the days when they built real keyboards. I have used 2 or 3 keyboards and worn them out, the one I use now and the IBM "clickies" you see have seen daily use for 10 or so years and not a single even remotely sticky key. Its wonderful.
I will use this keyboard as long as I can, even if that means that I have to use 18 adapters to plug it in . . . . I'm ready in case I ever buy a mobo without a ps/2 keyboard port . . . I have a ps/2 -> usb plug (opposite of what usually comes with usb mice and the like), so I can plug my AT -> ps/2 converter into that and I'm gold.

Pop the keys off and spray paint them?
