So apparently the company name is called FMS incorporated and the first time they called I picked up and they asked for my mom. She was away and they wouldn't tell me about some "business transaction". I posted it here before and I found how this FMS company is a debt collection company.

I dont' know how legit they are but some of the following signs raises a red flag.

1. I purposely let the call rang out so they would leave a message. They didn't and there was just a long dial tone after the call.

2. If my mom really do owe some money then wouldn't it be more appropriated to send a letter than to constantly call her house?

This is standard practice. The idea is to make living without paying the debt as uncomfortable as possible.

Send them a limited cease and desist letter stating all communication must be done through the mail. Send it registered with return receipt. Keep the paperwork. If they continue to call it's a major violation at $1k per call.

Now go visit creditboards and do some reading.

Start here.

Your mom can request that all correspondence take place in writing.

Send them a limited cease and desist letter stating all communication must be done through the mail. Send it registered with return receipt. Keep the paperwork. If they continue to call it's a major violation at $1k per call.

I like this... Now to find an android phone app to record calls...

Intimidation is the correct word for it. If it is a false call, I suppose you could call the police get them written up for harassment.

Be careful with this. It may be illegal to record without their knowledge. Though telling them you are recording the call may get interestin interactions.

Yea. That's one of the first things I checked when found the insightful info in this thread. Would have to inform them I was recording, or get consent, or whatever.

I was put in psych ward last year for a week. Around that time I was being harassed & outright disrespected by these bill collector's. This was not helping my mental state at all.
I'm wondering if I could pull that lack of mental stability card in my favor if I got them on recording harassing me.

I respect those who at least listen to my story & don't push me. But then there's those who will completely fuck up an otherwise great day, given the opportunity.

I don't have income. I'm homeless. And you're still demanding thousand's? FOH.
I could lose all my limbs & these fuckers would still demand money.
