This computer good for gaming.

The Intel motherboard graphics in the Sony are awful for gaming, even older games run at 640x480 or not at all.

The nvidia motherboard graphics in the HP are less awful, some older games will run OK at 800x600.

For $1,100 you should be able to get a Dell E1505 with at least a Radeon X1300 or nvidia 7300 that's more than twice as fast as the nvidia 6150, though a Radeon X1400 would be better.

Gaming on laptops depends much more on the graphics than the CPU, and the graphics are often not upgradeable.

I would scratch that Sony Vaio off my list if I were you. Pick anything else. You must not have read the bad feedbacks over the past months. Sony is definitely not the way to go.
The HP is definitely the better laptop here.

As far as gaming, its fair and you can do better with a Dell Inspiron with a discount coupon.
