Finally?
America has been producing great cars for well over a decade.
Chevy has made good corvettes for several years now, but nothing else of note has come from Amerika in a while.
Heck last 2 models of Z06 were amazing as well.....
Fixed it for you.
Is there a place where you don't post nonsense Vdub?
I have to say that the new Z06 is a blast to drive, even given that I'm not yet past the break-in procedure where you shouldn't take it over 4000 rpm.
It's a cool car, looks/sounds even better in person. have you seen the cost of replacing those carbon ceramic rotors and pads? It's around 15k.
Granted, they'll probably last 100k miles if you keep it off track, but still, that's one hell of a brake job LOL.
Hopefully it's not a PITA to maintain, I think I will be getting one in a few years once prices come down.
Corvette engines have been broken in IN the factory for WELL over a decade now....and some.

As much as I hate to do it, I agree with Vdubchaos in reference to the Z06. I have been enamored with this car since the C5. It is my go-to retort to 4-valve OHC fanboys, and now I don't even have to add the caveat that you shouldn't care about the interior if you are going fast.
This is coming from someone who has owned Japanese makes for 90% of his driving life.
And now that GM came up with a variable-valve timing for a pushrod engine back in '07 I don't see them dying off anytime soon. I did have to LOL at GM re-naming a pushrod engine to "cam in block" technology. Another advantage is weight distribution, with a pushrod engine the heads are much smaller so more of the engine's weight is closer to the ground.
Remember, there are other items to break in besides the engine.
I used to be an idiot.....euro snob......:$
Suggesting that "euro snobs" are idiots also suggests the "used to be" part is still in effect.
You're talking about one car that has finally improved it's interior quality to a degree to actually be considered a world class car.
You're talking about one aspect of it's drivetrain that, in its own right, is fine, but the argument is why such a huge motor for its power delivery?
Z06 spanked what. On a track? Who gives a crap? Bet that thing is sitting in a garage when it's cold.
