<< P O S:p

Nice tach, like that big V8 would ever come close to 10K RPM's.
>>

Sure it would, for about 3.8 seconds...

why would you want 10k rpm?

I was liking it, until I read "carburetor". I hate carburetors.

I love sleepers though. This looks like a good one.

It says right in the desription that the engine is limited to 5800rpm... thus confirming the utter uselessness of that tach. I bet that thing is still pretty quick though I'd much rather have the Ferraris it "kills." ;)

It does look good fro a sleeper. Sad thing is, both LOUST's and my truck can eat it for breakfast, and neither of us spent 60,000 on our vehics :)

<edit>
Oh, and both of our trucks are over 5000 LBs, not 3000 like this Mustang :) The carbon fiber valve covers do look sorta cool tho.

What truck do you have that runs faster than 12.4?

Loust has a Chevy 1500 that runs mid 12's and I have a 2500 dodge with a supercharged V-10 with a personal best of 11.09 @ 129 MPH :)

<edit>
I am sure Loust's will do beter, as he runs it "mile high" not near sea level like myself. I am trying to find his post where he told me his best, but I am not having much luck.
<edit#2> I love edits :)
Ok, I pulled my timeslip. I was off on the times and the speed. My bad, I haven't been to the track in a little while.
1/4 mile: 11.07
Speed (trap): 124.56 MPH.
My bad. sorry :eek:
And sorry for misspelling your name Laust, My spelling sux.

You didn't read a damn thing did you? Did you happen to read this:

0-60.............................4.0 sec
1/4 Mile........................12.4 sec
1/4 Mile trap speed..............119 mph
Top Speed.......................160+ mph
60-0 braking......................118 ft
Curb Weight......................3120lbs

Does your truck do the 1/4 mile in 12.4? Can it do 0-60 in 4.0 seconds? Can it outhandle a Ferarri at the track? I don't think so. And it's spelled LAUST. His truck only does the 1/4 mile in ~15 seconds. (High 13's for regular altitude) And can you say you built your own car? I don't think so. It's about pride.

Well, he didn't say specifically that he spent $60,000 on it.

And can your 5000 lb. trucks really kill this 3200 lb., 6 speed 400 HP mustang? I have my doubts.

EDIT: I'll take the light-weight any day. Weight is the enemy of automotive performance. This thing's also a carbureted NA engine. With a charger and some FI, no truck would take this thing.

You need rpm to make horsepower, simple mathematics.

Only in my personal best. See above. :)
<edit>
And that is my BEST, not by any means my "normal or average" :)
</edit>

when I launch in 4 wheel yes.
Can it outhandle a Ferarri at the track?
No way in hell :)
And can you say you built your own car?
Built it, no. Work on it, yes.

Well, he didn't say specifically that he spent $60,000 on it.
He did say it would cost 60,000 to "reproduce". I chose to see that as him spending that much on it.
6 speed
It actually says it is a auto right under the picture. :)

My truck is in no way a "track runner" not even close. It will only go straight. I have never maxed it out in spped, as the front end comes off the ground at about 130. My truck has all the aerodynamic properties of a brick.

I totaly agree. If the engine was maxed out, he would kill me. He is all engine. I need forced induction.

I agree on the weight thing, BUT you could say that about any NA engine. Why don't you just put some NOS on that Mustang while your at it.

It's a 6 speed manual. Quoted from the auction:

On Feb-06-02 at 13:58:40 PST, seller added the following information:

I was just made aware of a mistake in this auction. At the top it states the car has an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. That is incorrect. This car is a 6-speed manual.
[*]T-56 6 speed manual with 3.55 gears. (Same GM trans as used in Corvette).

So there! ;)
