just pulled apart a system a buddy brought over and found a seagate 151506 hd. didn't know they had 7200 rpm 4.29 gig hds in 97. also he just wants to pirate the cdrom(which is scsi) to his other system. i don't know what the other system is so if he doesn't have a scsi connector i just put a card in, right? i'm sure his other system is pretty old, so i was wondering if there were any tips on configuring a scsi cd. i've only dealt with ide stuff. lmk, jer

Correct. Just make sure the card has the correct number of pins.

50-pin is standard for a 'non-wide' device. (SCSI, SCSI-2, Ultra-SCSI) 68-pin is standard for wide devices (Fast-Wide, Ultra-Wide, Ultra2, Ultra160). Most CD's are standard 50-pin connectors but there are a few with 68-pin 'wide' interfaces.

That memory card off by itself is probably the L2 cache. For a while they were modual based for ease in upgrading.
