For some reason, on long plane trips I tend to lose the necessity of going to the bathroom. I've regularly gone stretches of 10 and 11 hours without needing to go. The duration seems to be getting a bit shorter of my record 13 hours 3 years ago but its still quite long compared to my normal routine. Heck - I can rarely sleep longer than 9 hours without needing to go and thats without eating breakfast, lunch, the water I get on the plane etc

Its not like I am leery of using the bathroom on the plane or in the airports either.

So ATOT - when will my bladder just explode?

Steak and kidney stone pie for you!

Air on planes is extremely dry. You are likely respirating and sweating out more water than you would at other times.

They usually only serve drinks in rather limited quantities on board, so you're not getting really well hydrated.

It's like when you really have to take a dump, but you're at your in-laws so you hold it in. Then magically the need to drop a #2 goes away and doesn't really come back again.

Yes, one of the benefits of the newer airliners like the A380 and the B787 is increased cabin humidity.

Drink a few liters of water and then get back to us on how you couldn't stop pissing and shitting on your flights.

Also, how often do you fly these 10 plus hour flights??

Well, this almost always includes breakfast before hand, grabbing a bottle of water in the lounge for the trip, water on the plane, a meal at a connecting airport and more water on the plane. I am not sure hydration is the issue given that my urine tends to be of a well hydrated color

I didn't say they were 10 hour flights, rather used 'long plane trips' to be inclusive of the total travel time for trips with a total flight time of 6+ hours as it usually means a connection or two for me (Thanks for making DTW a fortress hub Delta ) The 10-11 hours usually includes first flight + layover + second flight + customs + transportation to hotel before I start feeling the pressure.

What? Why? I like to leave them a little something to remember I was there.
