Today, I heard a weird noise in my case. Opened it up, found out it was my mobo's fan, so I tried sticking my finger in the rotating fan to see if the noise was fixed. Not be best idea, but it did the job. As I was putting the side panel back on, I decided to not hook the side fan up and see if it's much quieter. It was a LOT quieter. I had no idea what the big decrease was, but I was happy about it so just left it. Well, I turned on my computer to do some stuff I do every day. I started playing CS and realized that my framerate was not normal. Normally, it's maxed out at 100, but today it was going all over the place. Next thing I knew, I got an error from windows and then immediately following that, a system shutdown. I was wondering what was going on, so I powered it back on and went into bios. Going into the Temp page, I was horrified. CPU temp: 110c. So I immediately powered down, and let it sit there for about half an hour. I opened the case to discover that the CPU fan was on the end of a line of 3 fans, with the side and CPU fan being second and third respectively. By disconnecting the side case fan, I had disconnected the CPU fan. Made sure CPU fan was plugged in properly, powered back on, and now it's been running fine for 6 hours.
