I'm looking at this Anandtech benchmark between two older CPUs, the E8600 and the G620. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/54?vs=406

Both are pretty even in gaming with the E8600 having a slight edge in Crysis Warhead, Far Cry 2, and Left 4 Dead. But the G620 absolutely crushes the E8600 in Dragon Age Origins. Why the big difference?

Memory controller would be a possibility.

See I was thinking that the Dragon Age game might be poorly coded and relies heavily on single thread and the others are more multi-threaded, does that make sense?

Might be the integrated memory controller as stated earlier, or even the much higher GFLOPS per clock of Sandy Bridge vs Wolfdale.

No they are both dualcores.

Ah OK, my comment doesn't make any sense then. Never mind it :D

Someone else also said integrated memory controller, so two opinions pointing to the same thing would be enough to convince me. Thanks!
