Awww, wuss'a'matter? A little cold making Mr. Happy shrivel up and hide? REAL men bike in the snow, rain, ice as well as the sunshine.

Of course, I don't even OWN a bike, let alone one that costs as much as a decent motorcycle....so I'll just STFU. :D

ps
At least you're more fit than 88% of the male population out there. Now quit bitchin' and start pedlin'.

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! It would literally take me two hours (involving at least three bus changes standing in the rain) to make an 8-mile trip (I actually took the time to check this out when I bought my house). Our public transportation here in Atlanta blows goats.

hehe....don't worry, I'll be out there regardless. I just felt the need to whine about it. :D

I did recently acquire a really nice rain jacket that actually keeps me dry while not causing me to drown in my own perspiration, so that part of me is in good shape. I just hate getting wet feet (yes, I'm a wuss). :p

Plus a lovely 15 mins walk to and from school :)

(In the UK it's less noticeable, I'm wearing the same stuff as I do in the summer :p)

Actually, I've got a good jacket made of 3M Propore. They're only $30 or so and noticeably better than even expensive gore-tex jackets when it comes to not overheating you. I've got Pearl Izumi thermafleece leg warmers and gloves, I just need to get some decent shoe covers as all the spray coming off the back of my front tire ends up on my shoes. Cold I can totally deal with (I'm from MI, remember ;) ), but cold + wet = cranky Fausto.

Nope, and here's why:

1. Actually takes longer than a bike ride thanks to gridlocked traffic.

2. Why is there gridlock: because of "everybody else" in cars.

3. Atlanta has a smog problem.

4. Traffic is typically rated a bigger concern among Atlantans than even crime. Why? Because it's terrible all the time. We recently surpassed LA in terms of average daily commute.

In short, this is my small contribution to our traffic problems. I actually enjoy riding every day, I just thought I'd gripe about the weather for the sake of amusement. :p
