Apparently kids today are so inept at real life they have to modify it with games.

I didn't grow up with video games as such. I spent a good chunk of my childhood without them and got gaming systems as a I grew older. But even then my parents insisted I leave the house and go do things in the great outdoors.

I sure as hell didn't grow up with a cellphone. And the more time I spend at college trying to deal with kiddies in group projects, the more I worry for the future of America.

That app seems like a cute idea, but if its the only way a kid can learn to be responsible then it might actually be bad for him/her.

You're right, this is so totally different from the people that keep logbooks of every single aspect of their lives and follow daily routines religiously that have been around forever.

This really isn't much different from those digital planners, they're just giving it a new look to mimic all the shitty mobile games that have been scientifically validated for being psychologically successful at hooking people (which is obviously the hook of this).

Not to mention, pretty sure there's a lot of studies showing that successful people often are big on planning things out and following routines.

Who cares how you get onto it (hell pretty sure your parents probably forced you onto the ones that you act like should be basic common sense when you were a kid)?

I don't think age will even be an issue, there's a lot of older people hooked on those Facebook and mobile games.

And yet you are significantly overweight as an adult.

And the app is little different than the chores calender many parents have used for decades. The kids check off the chores, and doing them correctly and on time results in stars that accumulate and earn rewards. This app also reminds me of the self help projects we did in psychology class. This thing would have been indispensable.
