I've had an XP-90 didn't really impress me that much but the SI-120 with a good BX panflow is the sink to get.

well, you should definitely try a new heatsink and/or some new case fans.

my thoroughbred 2400+ dropped from 56C to 46C after I installed a few case fans a Thermaltake Volcano 10+. i also installed a few more case fans and it is one quiet (and cool mofo)

if you have space, go for a Volcano 12 or Silent Boost. if you don't have space on the motherboard (like me...using a 60x67 heatsink), then go with the Volcano 10+. it is definitely worth the money.

51C isn't bad . . . are you using AS5? My Sempron 2400+ @ 2.0 Ghz was idling at like 48-50C (stock HSF) before I took off the heatsink and applied AS5. Now it idles at about 36C . . . :)

Yeah XP-90 would a nice, light, and yet powerful heatsink.

Ok, i woke up this morning and it is idleing at 49C, it gets up to around
~55C when at load. I bought some case fans recently, they don't seem to help any.

57C at load is a bit high. It is probably "safe," but I definitely would try to bring it down a bit.

The XP-90 cannot mount on socket A without modding.

Get the SI-97a. It'll mount on Socket A(K7) processors and it'll also mount on K8 processor systems.
