This a good deal on a used Honda CR-V?

2001 Honda CR-V on auto trader for $13,500

It has 49K miles, its just the base model. Its being sold at a local honda dealership and is a certified pre owned model. It appears to have a clear carfax as well.

KBB lists the dealer retail at $14,900, obviously KBB does not have an option for CPO cars.
Edmunds lists the dealer retail at $14, 172, and the certified used vehicle price of $15,607.

So it seems like a steal at about $2000.00 less then the retail values from KBB and edmunds. It is the 2001 model, which was the last year before the 2002 redesign, but my fiancee wants an small SUV, so maybe this is the one.

i bought my used 2001 Honda CR-V EX AWD for $12,800 off the classifieds last July. I guess you are paying the premium since it is Honda certified and you are buying from the dealer. So, yeah, for $13,500 it's not a bad deal at all.

Thats a great deal too, this is only the base LX model, so not quite as good as your EX. But yes it does come with a decent warranty.

according to edmunds your car is a little higher than dealer value then:

I would try to find a deal from the classifieds, majority of the time they are cheaper. But on the flipside you don't know where it's coming from. I had my mechanic come out and inspect the car for me before I bought it. I paid him like $25 but it was well worth it....they know the tricks of the trade and can spot a lemon.

No edmunds lists it as almost 2000.00 more then they are asking from autotrader. When I said base model, I should have said base model with AWD, maybe thats the differance your seeing.

From my quick research, the main differances between the LX and the EX are that the EX has these:Keyless Entry System, Alloy Wheels, 4-Wheel ABS, Air Conditioning, CD Audio System.

I can live without most of that, or rather she can. Would be nice to have that stuff though. Especially the ABS.
