Yes, I've heard that it's a great way to shelter tax. Way to pimp your kid to save a buck!

"Uhm... uhm... like $5,000 per month. That's like $60,000 each year. ICE CREAM MOMMY I WANT ICE CREAM NOW"

Yeah this was nothing but extra publicity to help her reach that $150k goal. Now she just needs to find a new webhost that can handle the traffic.

Yeah but she'll still only be making probably a few thousand dollars a month after taxes and expenses. They're 40 year old's on AT who make that much in a week!

Good for her though!

I love these responses. As if a fancy website is the end all be all. You must be green to the real business world. I know plenty of multi million dollar businesses with crappy sites or no site at all.

Did you miss the part where I congratulated her?

Obviously, a fancy site isn't the end all and be all of success...I never said it was. But a site that is easily navigable and doesn't have horrendous colors certainly helps.

edit: Heh, her site exceeded the Homestead bandwidth.

Wow, the other sad thing about this (beyond guys here tearing her down):
Leanna works seven days a week to keep her business going. On weekends, she makes and packages the products at home with her parents' help. During the week -- after completing her homework -- she packs boxes for the orders she receives daily on her Web site.

To me, that is sad. Every f*cking day. Now does she do this because she is driven to to this by her own nature? Do her parents drive her to do this in exchange for "love"? Does she feel compelled like a mania, to do this? Does she not have any friends? I mean, pick any one of these and you pick something that is not normal socialization.

While I do aplaud her pluck and luck, I still think it sounds kinda sad that on the surface, she seems to spend her whole time working. She's got the rest of her life for that.

I don't see how this is all that much different from the kids in football, theater, band, or even working at Target or McDonalds. They all spend an inordinate amount of time on activities outside of school. The only difference here is, she's doing it on her own (with the help of her mother) and she's making more money.

This is one of those things where the parents do most of the work but give the kid the glory.

Not that they shouldn't...but articles like these try to magnify the kid even more.

What did this kid do, make some hair care mudpie type shit and get her mom's crazy friends to buy it?

Proof you don't really have to know how to do anything or know what you are doing to make it (although luck like this is rare).
