Even a 9 year old wouldn't be that stupid. Just ask my little brothers that scam people on Runescape and Neopets daily.

Kinda dick for him to deny him his steam account, but it serves him right. I suppose the 13 year old would have done the same thing.
People are so stupid.

I honestly can't believe that this could be true. There is no way some fool could be trying to steal accounts and then get his own stolen by the exact same trick he was using. So, I have to call BS on this.

Here's a scenario to muse over.

A 13 year-old kid reads about counter-strike hacking, and wants to do it. He also reads about Valve banning hackers, which scares him. He then reads about people hijacking Steam accounts. He thinks "well if I steal an account and get banned, it's no biggie!". So he concocts a half-assed scam (or reads about it somewhere) and tries it for the first time on someone. This someone states he works for Valve (no, really) and the kid is scared as hell.

Don't tell me you've never been so scared that you did stupid stuff, because it happens to everyone. This kid just happened to get owned in the process.

Also, this kid doesn't really have much logic anyway. Why else would he try to steal someone's account over MSN, while stating that he works for Valve? He obviously doesn't realize that most employees of major companies can spell correctly.

Ya I can believe that happening to a teen hacker. Especially since he included the tracert thing.

the 13 year old probably didn't even know what the hell to look for doing a tracert.

I mean, come on, if the guy doesn't know how to trace something, he probably doesn't even know how to read the data he gets back.

What br0kenrabbit did wouldn't of worked on someone with more technical awareness.

But again, it was a 13 year old, you can't expect too much from someone of that age range.
