-- from another site:

"Shelby Automotive will offer a third Shelby Mustang to fill the gap between the 300 horsepower Mustang GT and 500 horsepower Shelby GT500.

The Shelby GT--produced at Shelby Automotive in Las Vegas--is essentially the same package as the rental-only Hertz Shelby GT-H.

With its trademark gold-on-black color scheme and exterior modifications including a unique hood, Mustang GT/CS front fascia, and side scoops, the Shelby GT-H can be mistaken for no other car on the road. Ford Racing provided suspension and performance modifications improving the car's handling and increasing horsepower to 325 and torque to 330. The Shelby GT is expected to share many of the same characteristics.

Unlike the Hertz edition, the Shelby GT will be available to the public for purchase at local Ford dealers."

I think what really annoys me about the mustang, is that they make to many damn versions of it.

what? That's what the rest of the world wants. That's when American cars were at it's best. Options and models to suit you.

I think this "cheapens" the legendary Shelby name, but then again, I heard Shelby Automotive is hurting for money, so I guess they gotta cash in while there is interest.

Naw they had different flavors of the Shelby always..
different price points and less rare versions always sell..

remeber there were MANY different Shelby stang versions back in the day.

as for intrest it never went away... just look at Steeda and Saleen if you ever think that custom fast stangs ever went out of style.. hell ther top dog at Saleen with all options totals out at over 90k... for a mustang with a body kit and more HP.. and a Saleen limited number...

Ford and Carrol should have never parted ways... Ford coulda reaped the benefit of having Shelbys around on top of the SVTs to cater to those people that would normally go to Saleen or Steeda...

i hope it has a lot more options for $5k.... ~30hp/tq doesn't seem like much for $5k.

It's more like $10k. The base GT model is around $25k. The extra $10k gets you:
-Ford Racing Handling Pack (lowering springs, shocks, panhard bar, etc.)
-Ford Racing Power Pack (x-pipe, intake, computer retune, 3.55 gears, different mufflers)
-Shelby Stripes
-Fake hood and side scoops
-Hood pins
-Different grille
-18" wheels
-Shelby badging
-Hurst Shifter
...certainly you could do a lot more with $10k, but
it is an authentic, limited edition Shelby, so it may become a collectible.
