Guys, what is the thinnest CRT available currently, I would go LCD, but ghosting and super expensive for 18" viewable. If you can find me a thin CRT or a superb LCD, it would be cool. 500 and under if possible but give me all of the options.

there's no so called thin crt--there is what we called slim crt.
For 400 bucks--you can get a very 19" trinitron or diamondtron crt monitor.

So are there anyother slim CRT's? I would be using this for gaming, 3d animation and modeling, etc. Is LCD or CRT better for me?

short depth..short neck--whatever the manufacturer want to call it.
If you can afford the money--get 18" planar lcd--very nice lcd for gaming and all the stuffs you wanted to do..
otherwise--just look arround at brand like viewsonic, sony, hitachi, mitsubishi.

You should have ordered off of Dell's small business website, you could have gotten another 15% off that price like me!
