Thinkpad Z61m

Ultralight

I came across this deal at my local Staples for $850. I know it isn't a T61 series but it is a Thinkpad. This is as much info as I could get on it; it is ready wireless along with USB and IEE, etc.

Thinkpad Z61m
* Intel Core Duo T2300E (1.66GHz, 2MB, 667MHz)
* 1 GB PC-5300/667MHz
* 80GB (5400 RPM SATA)
* DVD+/-RW
* Vista Business

* This lap top will be for college work such as Word document, research papers, homework, internet research and surfing, emailing; no gaming. Thus, there really isn't a need for all the bells and whistles.

* Will Vista Business suffice? Is there really a need for the Media Center as found in Vista Home Premium?

You'll need a separate DVD player outside of WMP, since the codecs aren't included in Vista Business. Otherwise, I don't see a problem with going with Vista Business. It seems like a good deal for what you need to do.
