You can take the drive out and gently shake it a bit and it seems like something is loose inside, but I am told that is normal.

No, it doesn't. I'm simply saying that you can clearly hear something is loose if you shake any Travelstar drive.gently shaking it helps?

I gotta say, thats just pretty cool, I never would have even thought of using a laptop to serve up pics.
