Thinkpad T61p: 64 bit windows?

Hi,

I'm refurbishing an older T61p thinkpad.

it's a 2.2ghz core2duo.

Is 64 bit windows a good idea to install? Does it really matter?

I believe the core2duo is 64 bit, but I'm not sure if the mainboard or any other component might get in teh way.

The core 2 duo is 64 bit, the core duo is not

I run a 64 bit windows 7. Runs beautifully and fast on a t9300 but the other c2d will run it just fine.

I ran Win7-64 on my T61p for years. no problem until full mobo failure.
