ThinkPad t430 maximum res w docking station

I got a new t430 at work and am trying to determine the maximum resolution I can drive in an external monitor. The vga port tells me maybe 1080' though there is a dvi port on the docking station. I will be doing larger visio diagrams and screen flows, so I don't need speed...just resolution to put a lot on a screen.

Can I drive a 27" 1440 screen? Or am I maxed out at a lower level?

What's the spec of your T430? Did it come equipped with the non-integrated GPU? Does it have DisplayPort? Which Dock? Since you say VGA and DVI, I'm assuming the Mini Dock Series 3, correct?

The DVI port is single-link, so you're limited to 1920x1200, same for VGA. With the DisplayPort on the unit, you can do full 2560x1600.

Thanks for the clarification. There wasn't any documentation in the box. sounds like I'll have to scrounge up a DP cable if I want to run a 27" screen, but it's doable.
