ThinkPad T42 is losing harddrive space (stumped)

I posted this over at the ThinkPads forum and they've been somewhat helpful. Wondering if anyone here has any idea about my problem.

In short, I'm losing harddrive space mysteriously. Everytime I delete some files and free up space, a few days later the free space will be mysteriously gone. For example, I freed up about 2.5 gigs at the beginning of the week, I've been checking it over the course of the week and it has slowly gone down in intervals to it's current 600mb allocation.

System restore is off, hibernation is off, my AVG antivirus is up to date, Spybot reports nothing, Windows Update is all up to date. My paging file is also set at 768mb so that it won't change.

Is there some virus out there I don't know about eating up my harddrive space? I used a few Adobe programs, monitored their file usages and even after exiting them and rebooting I don't gain any space back.

Just dled it off another site, turns out PeerGuardian's database file was 12.6 gigs! Insane... thanks.
