Thinkpad T40 battery

Ok recently I bought a T40 thinkpad, which i love. It beats the pants off the Inspiron 1000 Ive been using for the last 6 months...but its used, and the battery holds little more than an hours worth of charge.

Id like to get more 🙂

Ive read/heard a little about people cracking open the battery casing an making their own. Ive never done anything like it, but would be interested if its not complicated, or easy to blow my hand off

Otherwise Id buy one....but I know nothing about batteries either way. What am I looking for in the specs, what is one worth, and whats the best way to go about picking one to purchase?

Id like to get about 3 hours out of one, maybe a bit more but 3 would be plenty for me (i use my lappy for work in the field and having just an hour or so really pushes it close)

Anyone have some tips or a good website to hit? 🙂
