Thinkpad R40 battery

I was told that this laptop can have a battery inplace of where the cd-rom is. However I can't seem to find any sources online claiming that, not even the ibm website.

So what's the truth? Is there a battery for the secondary bay? Basically I need to know because battery life is very important to me.

Yes. You will need the Ultra bay 2000 battery from IBM for the R40.
