I have a Celeron 433 thinkpad, for which IBM says only PC66 will work. I can get PC100 modules for much cheaper, is it true that a celery machine actually requires pc66 memory? Do I run a risk of having my laptop crash or is IBM full of it as usual (like for example when they say that you must get gold plated memory instead of tin)? thanks

Go to Crucial Website and select your Mfg then model. It will take you to what is compatable with the system. All the laptops that I have had are very picky about memory but higher speed is usually backward compatable.
