Thinkpad: installing extra RAM

I just got a thinkpad from IBM, with a 128MB upgrade included. Only they didn't install the stick of RAM. I've unscrewed the "latch" at the back of the laptop, where the extra RAM is housed, and placed it with no mean effort in it's housing. I then screwed the "latch" back on.

However, before I power on, I have to say I'm a little concerned that it's not sitting correctly.

Has anyone installed RAM in a 1200i? Can you send me some reassurance that I'm not about to damage the stick? Should it just sort of "sit" there? I wish I had the firm click that you get when installing DIMMs on a regular mobo!

Hey: I know this is a pain in the ass post, but give me some slack - laptops are soooo expensive
 
The main thing is to make sure the ram is inserted all the way. When you have a virgin slot, the ram may be a bit difficult to get all the way in (most of the gold connectors should be no longer visible when the ram is all the way in). Then check to make sure you pushed the SODIMM all the way down as well. If it's not, the computer probably just won't boot up correctly, but the chance of you burning it out is very slim.
