Thinkpad 560 Info and Troubles LAPTOP HARDWARE MMMMMMMM

Well, I had an interesting hour or two today...
Recap...
I previously fried the DC-DC board in my 560X laptop by plugging a charger in reverse-polarity. DUH.
I went out and bought a 560 for $60 for parts. I figured, 2640-20U would be close enough to 2640-70U
WRONG
IBM 560X laptops use different DCDC boards than plain ole 560s ... SUCKS.
Now, I'm really in a dilemma.
$565 for the part from IBM
$350 for IBM qualified service
Component level repair ... hours of fun with the multimeter, test probe and oscilloscope
Or I could acquire the right DCDC board or a dead 560X elsewhere.

Fun

So the Info here is that IBM 560X parts are not interchangeable with IBM 560 parts

So the Troubles are my laptop is still f***ed
Anyone have any parts, suggestions or anything? I love my poor injured laptop!!!
peace
-Dave
