Thinking of using jury duty excuse to get out of work tomorrow?

I've been on call since Monday but I have not been instructed to report in yet. My employer does know that I'm on call. Even if I'm not instructed to report in tomorrow, I was thinking of telling my employer that I have to and getting the day off. I also have Friday off so that'll be a 5 day weekend.

..as long as you can produce proof that you were called or had to report for the JD pool it shouldn't be a problem. The times I went I always got an attendance reciept to turn into the boss.

I don't know what the policies are at your company, but mine requires receipt of your jury duty service. I would be better off lying about someone dying then saying I had jury duty.

This is not a good idea, however since this is ATOT, I say:

"GO FOR IT!" :D

On-call and actually reporting in and sitting in a room w/ a bunch of people waiting to get called on are two different things. For on-call, you're only required to check in each day after 5PM to see if you have to go in the next morning. Or are you telling me your employer lets you sit at home and nef all day long while you're on-call?

Hopefully, you've never ever posted on ATOT from work. It wouldn't take much effort for the employer to say, hmmm, he's jtvang online at that forum. I wonder what kind of stuff he's ever posted about.

My company requires signing over the pay from JD to the company and my county specifies the actual dates called to service on the check stub. If you don't have to sign your pittance over or your county doesn't do that, you'd probably never get caught.

Employers are both notified if you have jury duty and in some counties they are even notified if you are given the choice to go home and choose to do so.
