Thinking of trying the Win10 Preview, system spec question

I have a spare system that I'd like to try Win10 out on, just to have a poke around with it. System spec is as follows:

Intel C2D E6550 (2.3GHz dual)
4GB DDR2-800
500GB HDD (IDE mode only)
GeForce 8400GS

Does anyone know of any reason why it won't work?
 
More than good. However if it does feel slow, it may not be an issue with your system, beta or alpha versions are always slow. When it goes RTM they flip a speed switch it seems. If anyone cares to elaborate why, I would be interested in knowing.

I have experiance this with build of vista, 7, and 10 preview. I never beta tested 8.
 
I am running it on one core of a 3720QM and 2 GB of RAM. As others have said, this one is a little slow (even with more RAM in a VM in the sig system) but works fine.
 
Cool, thanks for the responses, I'll try installing it after I've swapped out the noisiest HDD on the planet* for something a little less jarring 🙂

* - possibly an exaggeration. Good ol' DiamondMax 21...
