Thinking of taking up Kielbasa smoking

The pork kind, forget turkey or chicken. But I don't have any bulk sources of pork or lard (preferably alternator sized), or even a good recipe. Anybody here smoke cured meats?

What area are you from? Almost any major town has ethnic butchers, delis and other places to buy this. My friends neighbour makes all sorts of sausages and wursts from scratch. Smells heavenly.

Agreed. I know a Polish lady and every year, she brings me kielbasas and sausages around Easter time. her father buys an entire slaughtered pig and smokes the finished sausages in his backyard. Such flavor...
