Thinking of shaving my head...

Anyone have any advice or experience on what to use/do?
i.e.
Should I use clippers than razor?
How bout alcohol on it afterwards?
Implications of shaving my head etc.

seriously though...before you shave your head make sure to feel around on it and make sure you dont have a funny shaped head....I learned that one the hard way

Use clippers at #1 setting, then lather up your head with shaving cream, and let it sit for a few mins. Then use a razor and shave with the hair. Taking a shower before doing all this helps A LOT too.

Of course I take your usage of "shaving" here to mean going bald. 😛 I can't help you beyond saying I like bald headed guys (not skinheads, please). 😉 🙂

Get plenty of razor blades. they'll dull up and you don't want to carve your pumpkin. Also, when you get some stubbly back, make sure you don't just try and pull your t shirts on over your head. Roll them up and poke your thread thru the neck hole otherwise you'll dislocate your neck. Your head will be one giant piece of velcro 🙂

I found it best to buzz it short THEN to shave with a stright-razor. Quicker, easier to clean-up and saves on blades.

BTW, just do it. Don't worry too much about the ugly head. Mine is very ugly, but it FEELS much nicer to be shaved clean. (although, it IS difficult to get rid of that last bit of stubble. Even when you can feel any, you can still see some...)

Well, I've been shaving my head for three years and LOVE it! Not only do I finaly look my age, but I've also been told that I have a perfectly shaped head for being bald. Anyhow, I use Mach 3, and a dab of aftershave when I'm done. Just be careful at first til you get hang of it. After you done, just move the palm of your hand around back to make sure you didn't miss any spots. Good luck dude!

As Geekbabe suggested - stay away from dead squirrels! Besides, once you go bald, you'll never want a dead animal on your head anyway.

I thought about shaving my head as well, but I've neglected to do so for fear that my head is less than "perfect." If I had naturally dark skin I'd do it in a heart beat, as dark skinned males look pretty damn good bald no matter what.

Unfortunately, if you shave your head and find out it looks like an egg, you're kinda screwed.

How's that? Whatever you have left hair-wise will grow back in few days and presto! you're back to where you started.

That's not true. Just wear a hat for a couple of weeks until it grows back.

LOL, Seinfeld flashback, the guy Elaine was dating, he had shaved his head for years and she got him to grow it out, when he did he was devasted to find out he had been going bald during the time he had been shaving it. 😀
