How difficult is this to do? What is usually necessary to install and how difficult is this?

A barebones generally includes a case w/ power supply, a motherboard and a floppy drive. Anything much beyond that and you're into the individual needs/personal preference territory. Some also include a cheap kbd and mouse - that's up to you. I think the kbd, mouse and screen are the ones that make the most difference in user satisfaction - so I'd leave the kbd/mse up to the buyer too.
. It really depends on your target market. Trying to come up with specifics is pretty much a waste of time without a target market in mind.
. The one that Rib came up with is a pretty high-end starter box. Rib must be independently wealthy (from this and other recommendations I've seen ;) ...).

I'm quite human. I just have nothing else to do. Games aren't any fun for me anymore, and most movies and shows suck. So I haunt forums.

Zoo...,
Perhaps I misunderstood... Do you mean you are going to buy a barebones system and build it out yourself? Then that is not hard to do. Just use Mechbgon's builder's guide and you should have little trouble.

. If it's an SFF barebones system, then some instructions should come with it to explain their proprietary stuff.

If you are looking to build your own system then read mechBgon's guide that was linked above by Zepper. That should help you out in installing the parts. IMO choosing the parts is the hardest part of building a PC. It takes a bit of research to choose the right parts.
