Thinking of RMAing a card

As the title says, I'm thinking of RMAing my RX800 from MSI through Newegg. I'd be grateful if someone would list every step including where payments come in and all that so I don't forget anything (which I tend to do; if not, then just fear of forgetting something).

The reason I want to RMA is simply because after an hour or so of usage, I'd get artifacting in BF2. The gazeboes in chinese maps become zebra striped, low stone walls in MEC maps turn silver, and triangle patterns appear on the streets. This is not a driver issue.

So yea, plz list the steps, thnx =)

P.S. If Newegg or MSI no longer hold the X800 I have, what would they replace it with? The only other MSI X800 that shows up on newegg is a 128MB one. They can't spec down can they? The one I bought is pretty much the same as the 128MB one except its 256MB.

2. Select RMA

Newegg will step you thru the process, it's fairly simple

Im not sure about MSI's warranty. But EVGA.....

I call them. Tell them the card is artifacting. They say "oh dude.. that totally sucks. please let us ship you a new one." I say "sweet but i dont wanna pay shipping." they say "oh its cool bro just select crosshipping there will be an included sticker to use as a ups label...so we pay shipping both ways." i say " thanks!"

recieve my card after 2 days (i live about 45minute drive from the evga shipping location in brea california)

evga = ^^b

MSI probably would be something like this....

"Yo, my card is totally artifacting for no reason" customer service - " bummer... i bet you should clean it or something it might be getting hot.. what are the temps?" you- "its all clean dude...i just got the card..and its a real bummer" them "Oh damn.. we will send you a new one." you- "oh good cuz this one is terrible... how do we do that?" them- " we send you an RMA # and barcode in your email. you print it out and tape it to the box and ship it to us. once we recieve it we ship the new card to you." you-"word up g money." them- "what?" you-"i said ok sounds good..but i dont want to pay." them-"bummer"

I would suggest rmaing through newegg rather than msi, as newegg's rma system is generally easier to use than the manufacturers. Newegg doesn't pay for you to ship it to them though.

I'm definitely going to do this through Newegg... I don't care much for MSI.

I was able to get an RMA started using their Live Chat. The customer service rep was able to process it right there in chat. Only downside to the RMA process is newegg has to get the defective item back in their hands first, before they send the replacement out.
