I test drove a 6speed 350z yesterday and thought those alloy looking pedals looked pretty hot..I was thinking of getting a set to put in my car, but is there a brand worth considering over another, or are they all basically the same?

WTF? The VTEC ones are way faster. They dramatically increase pedal aerodynamics and add to the intimidation factor.

yeah

get the ones with holes in them too

they're speed holes so you can press down on the pedals faster

I love the ones I have in my back-up car. They keep my feet from slipping on the pedals when it's wet.

I drove a vehicle with some cheap aftermarket pedals like that and my feet continually slipped off the pedals. Seemed a bit dangerous to me.
