Thinking of making an Intel build

1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
Mostly gaming

2. What YOUR budget is.
Trying around $1400

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

US

4. IF YOU have a brand preference.
Just the Intel part

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Just my OS (Windows Vista 64bit)

6. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I'll probably be overclocking the CPU

I'm thinking of making an Intel build at some point in the future since they're apparently the bee's knees. I have made a list so far and was wondering what you guys think. Anything I should do differently? I'm not getting this stuff right away and I know I'll probably be switching some of this stuff out for better things in the future, but for right now, how's it look?

List

Not sure if I care for the PSU choice, especially for the money.

Oh and you're spending a lot of money just for the sake of having SLI, if you went away from that you would have $200ish to put into other things(i.e. a better video card, or a BETTER VIDEO CARD a year from now)

What other motherboard and video card would you suggest?

Perhaps a Gigabyte DS3L with a 8800GT or 8800GTS(G92) or even higher.

The DS3L should be approx $80 and the 8800GT commonly can be found AR for $170 or lower. So your total would be $250 instead of $450 with your current configuration.

What do you mean by modular?

The cables can be added and taken off as necessary. If you have need for more 4 pin molex connectors, you add another cable. If not, you don't have them in your case.

You can save a few bucks by getting your cooler here:

I believe its still free shipping.

Also, the freezer 7 comes with thermal grease applied. From what I have read its pretty good stuff. I wouldn't worry about buying a tube unless you anticipate reinstalling your CPU.

I would buy this soon if you want it though...

I've been looking at different cases. Are there any cases that have the same amount of cooling than the one I picked? I saw the XCLIO A380PLUS-BK mainly cause the of the two giant fans and it's a bit cheaper, but I wanted something smaller than a full tower (I know the one I already picked is a full).

How about the Antec 300 or the Coolermaster 690. Both have excellent cooling.

Would I need more than 3 fans? The 690 supports up to seven...I think.

The 690 comes with more than enough airflow. However, if you want even more cooling there is another side panel fan you can add, and there's one behind the motherboard tray. I am not sure how many other "expansion areas" there are but it's a very nice case.
