Anyone know of any good UT2003 mod teams? And i mean serious mods, with their own maps, models and weapons, not light mods that just add a few bells and whistles to existing material. I was thinking that something like Counter-Strike for UT2003 would be awesome to work on. The original is getting really old, and all the fans are going to need a good up-to-date strategic combat shooter to play. As for myself, i can do good textures at the moment, and a few months from now, i should be able to get some models out the door as well. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas on what project i can join, post here please. Perhaps someone would even like to get a new one going?

im still waitin for a decent oponent. everyone i have plaied i have owned. maby thats cause i can beat regular UT on Godlike very eaisily.
I've never been in a mod team, so i don't know if starting my own would be a good idea. I'd be more interested in joining another team that is working on a similar project. Of course, if there aren't any teams working on a tactical shooter mod, I'll just start one up myself.
The game will be in stores this week, so if anything, i'm really late, than really early. In a perfect world, i would have a team ready to start working the moment the game hits the shelves, but it doesn't look like that would happen.

I'm going to port a few of my favorite maps over from UT. I've worked with UED before so it shouldn't be so hard.

Really impressive. I don't seem to like the weapons in the game though, so I only play Instagib w/ Low grav in Anubis. Its a ton of fun.
Yeah the only weapon i use is the rocket launcher, unless i run out of ammo. It's the best overall weapon, has been in all FPS games. Low gravity is good, but i enjoy normal grav with 120% speed even more.
Yeah low grav sucks if you like using a rocket laucher, because it makes it next to impossible to hit someone in the air. But with instagib, its a different story. With low grav, it adds a whole new 'vertical' dimension to the game. Instead of players just running around on the ground, they are all over the place. It also makes it a lot harder to hit someone

no i tried playin last night but it was bein stupid and wouldent let me connect. that and my school seems to block it somehow because teh only games i see are servers at my school. i havce to IP to the other games. and teh last anand one i went to i had a ping of 999 and it lages so much i couldent even play

Are you talking about the ANANDTECH server? I was pinging around 600 on it. Do you know if CorpRec or entity plans on putting their server back up anytime?
Yeah, its not like you could do.. uhh, both.. or anything like that.
I've helped graphically with a Q3 mod, doing hud design and texture work... it was a very very successful game for Q2, but it didn't take off as well for Q3.. (BotS - Battle of the Sexes)
