I can barely cook and I am tired of eating out/frozen.

Does anyone have any experience with Personal Chefs? Suggestions/comments would be nice. I live in the DC area.

Damn dude, what kinda job do you have to afford a personal chef?

Judging from his location, an overpaid government employee who goes to meetings, do no useful work, and burn taxpayer money on personal chefs?

lol, should have mentioned I am a vegetarian as well.

I am not talking of a private chef, someone who lives with you. I think personal chefs have a bunch of clients and usually just make a few meals/wk.

Dedicate yourself to one of those companies that deliver booze, cigarettes and fast food to your door in one fell swoop.

You could probably get carryout from a local vegetarian restaurant for cheaper than a chef service would cost.
Though are you a non dairy eating vegetarian (Vegan iirc), or do you consume dairy products? If you don't consume dairy products, make sure what you get from a restaurant or chef meets your nutritional requirements.

it's uncommon for people to ask for personal chefs unless they are rich, that's why.

for godsakes, next thing you'll be hiring a personal shopper to buy your clothes... why don't you hire a personal sh!tter that way you won't even have to waste energy sitting on the toilet.

Jeez, I didn't know I had to explain myself for asking a question..

I work 8-10 hour days, then work out (if I can), and then study for the GMAT. I am sure everyone is has schedules like me. Right now, I don't have time to learn how to cook. Eventaully, yes, contrary to your belief that I am a lazy slob. I'd like to eat some decent food if I can, and if I have the $ to spend, what is it to you? Someone is providing a service, and I am paying for it.

Others, thanks for your suggestions. And, Giada De Laurentiis - wow..

Ah yes... around here we call those "restaurants." Most will even deliver the food right to your door!

;)

Thing is, cooking isn't this mystical dark art that you have to learn by investing 3 hours a day studying it. Get a cookbook (you can get vegetarian cookbooks) or find recipes online and follow the directions. Now you're cooking with fire.
