Hey guys, thinking of getting some sort of water cooling setup for summer. All I really need is something for my CPU, anything else is just gravy. Price and looks do matter. Have 1 5.25" drive bay to spare, otherwise it must be able to go on top of my case, have one 80mm exhaust on the top of my case (Have a Lian Li PC-65). Oh and an easy setup would be good too since this would be my first time using Water Cooling.

Been looking around, and it's hard to tell which ones look good when you just see stock photo's and such.

if your just looking for something basic...i have a thermaltake bigwtaer its not the best but it gets the job done and its pretty cheap. i would recommend that unless you want something a little nicer.

Was looking at that, seems a bit bit to fit in my case, have a Lian Li PC-65, so smaller componets is something I would be looking into as well.

you want a 120mm rad. do not get anything under that.

now for a kit you can get the corsair cool water kit.

it comes with something called a Radbox. this will allow you to use a back 80mm hole to mount a 120mm radiator.

check out swiftechs site on info on the radbox and some pics of how its set up:

Yup, what he said. The COOL Water is a great starter kit with a bit of expansion built in.

how do these things make a midtower case look like? I mean, too cramped or not too bad?

Nope, taht's the fans' lighting. The covers are full of holes for better heat management ;)

I'm still looking into this as well and so far the Zalman Reserator 1 looks like a good starting point. Its not the optimum for some freakish overclocking or anything, but to WC a stock setup, it seems to get pretty good reviews.

I just read a review on the Res 1 (with the flow meter fix), and frankly it doesn't look bad at all. The early reviews I looked at indicated that it sucked. Plus it's a damn sexy chunk of hardware. :)
