Well, I don't think I'd be content in college since I hate school but I love to learn. I'm an average student but people consider me to be really smart in computers and philosophy but I know I'd hate a job in IT so that is why I don't want to go hardcore-computer science degree. So I was considering the Air Force or Navy. A lot of my friends want to be Marines and one is leaving in two months. There's no way I'd want to become a Marine for numerous reasons so I was thinking more along the lines of the Air Force or the Navy. Only problem is that I don't know what I'd do there. I don't want to be a pilot but something with computers or technological may be up my alley. I have no clue about my future so I'm accepting any and all options.

I was going to join the Navy, but made the mistake of listening to my (then) brother-in-law and joined the Marines. DON'T

Though I did make it into the aviation field, so it could have been worse.

If I had it to do over, I think I would choose the Coast Guard. At least you are helping out at home. And the key word IMO is helping out!

Well my father was in the Air Force in 1974 and he doesn't remember it being all that great. At this point in my life, I don't really care where I go as long as it's out of the classroom. School is making me sick and I don't think that is the way man is supposed to live.

Air Force. You'll learn a trade and it's more like a job than military duty. At least copmpared to Army Combat Arms.
The Air Force personnel I worked with stayed in hotels, ate in restaurants and only put in 8 hour days. I slept in a tent, ate cold food from metal containers and worked 12 hours on, 12 off.

No matter which service you choose you will go to school for atleast a short period of time. I learned more in my six month A school than alot of guys did in two years of assioates training in electronics. I would recommewnd going airdale in the navy I loved my job. I disliked some of the people I worked with but I have yet to find a more fun job.
