Thinking of getting the Philips DVD/Divx Player DVP5982/37.. does it upconvert divx video?

I'm really interested in this player because it upconverts DVD's to 1080p... i'm wondering, does it upconvert divx files too? I tried searching on google, but there doesn't seem to be much information on this... thanks

I doubt it since it doesn't play DivX hd ...but I could be wrong

The answer is yes. My Sceptre was running in 1080i while watching the clip which was encoded at 656x272. I love this player...I have a 60 gig laptop drive connected drawing power from the USB port and it works great!!
