I have never overclocked and would like to get something easy.

I was also looking at MSI Z68A-GD65 (B3), newegg has msi combos onsale so i would save $15.

Then there is the Asrock Z68 Extreme4, but this would cost me $45 more then the msi combo.

So I'm thinking of getting the gigabyte ga-z68x, with the I5 2500k I get it for $390.

At first I was going to go with MSI but i keep reading how bad the bios is.

What do you guys think? BTW is anyone can find me a cheaper cpu/mobo, I would appreciate it.

If you get with a Z68, get one that offers the video out ports otherwise it defeats one of it's main purposes, IMO

I am thinking about this too and I am curious about your comment BTRY B 529th FA BN (WTF kind of handle is that anyway). I understand the Z68's have Intel built-in graphics but they are really weak compared to any standard dedicated GPU, right? I want the board for other features. I don't someone who spend the money on a Z68 would skimp on buying a dedicated GPU. Thoughts?

Well its the Sandy Bridge cpus themselves that have the integrated graphics processor (IGP), the Z68 boards with video output just allows you to use it for video.

You can use the IGP along with your dedicated GPU to save power, the IGP can be used for desktop graphics, then it will switch to your dedicated card for games.
Obviously BTRY B 529th FA BN feels that is worth having.
And actually it could help with resell value of the board in the future.

The IGP video out could also come in handy if you need to go without a dedicated GPU for awhile if you sell your GPU and need video until you get a new GPU

But since you dont seem to care about this (neither do i...LOL ), you can still use the IGP for transcoding if you want in D-mode.

And of course i'm gonna suggest the ASRock Z68 Extreme4. ;)
Its actually my first ASRock board and i could not be happier and dont even consider that maybe i should have bought something else.

I usually buy/prefer Gigabyte boards the last few years, but this time i wanted to try something different and try out UEFI to be completely honest and the ASRock Z68 Extreme4 looked like a solid choice.
No regrets at all!

In my opinion , the GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 mentioned also looks like a good choice.
Although i don't have any hands on experience with this exact board , Ive never had any complaints with my MANY Gigabyte boards throughout the years.
