Ok, I left my old job end of last year and since I only had about $750 in my 401k I just cashed it out at the penalty instead of transferring it. This means I'm getting in over $550 sometime in the next couple days.
So I've been thinking about taking that money and getting a new console. My problem is I'm having trouble fully convincing myself, and also I'm still debating on which one to get.
I'm leaning towards the 360, but I'm apprehensive because of the RROD problems and the apparant soon death of HD-DVD. I like the power behind PS3 and blu-ray, but it's expensive and blu ray movies aren't cheap. Also I don't currently have an HDTV. I own a first gen XBOX and still have a pile of XBOX games I haven't touched but plan to. I never owned a PS2, and I know PS3 has some backwards compatibility but then removed it from some and it was never perfect or something. It's all confusing there. Then there's always the idea that I could just go get a PS2 and play all those games I never got to (though I doubt I'll do this).
Other things to note. I need to get a dental crown soon, so I could just save this money for that. I'm going to San Diego Comic Con this year so I could save this money for that. And I've still yet to get my best friend a wedding present for his wedding that was last April.
So basically I'm asking y'all to convince me one way or another what I should do with this money.
Edit: I should note I would not ever spend money on a Wii, so no need to try to send me that way.
