Thinking of getting 2GB of PC3200, good idea?

I currently have a gig of OCZ PC3700 EB Platinum. I also have a Winnie 3500 and a DFI Ultra. Would it be worth it going to 2x1024 of OCZ PC3200 2-3-2-5? It would be for playing games like BF2, I was wondering if it's worth selling my RAM for it.

Being I have a 3500 Winnie, doesn't that mean it would get knocked down to DDR333 and 2T? I'm running HTT 218.

For the same price, the Titantiums offer the better voltage and power-swap warranties. I'd go with those.

I was thinking about getting this:

Yes, you will be able to run 2x1024 @ DDR400/1T. You can run any similar DIMMs in 2s @ that spec. Although, if you are looking to upgrade to an X2 in the not too distant future, you might want to consider holding off the RAM since I believe the X2's use the same upgraded memory controller that's on Venice/SD and they allow all 4 DIMM slots to be used @ DDR400 so your loss of going from 1T -> 2T won't be that great. Your choice however depending on what you need/want. ;)

If you are running a winnie, lets say you use 4 sticks.
Then you force the memory to 400mhz.

When you boot, the screen says
DDR 333 128bit Memory @ 400mhz.

Is that DDR400 since the memory IS at 400mhz.

Or does the mobo not make full use of the memory clock since it states its DDR 333?

Thats the luck of the draw there, if it's showing as 400mhz, then it's running at 400mhz, but since the memory controler is on the CPU, not all of them can handle running 4 sticks at 400mhz.

Well, I didnt feel so lucky stuck at 2t.
I know theres numerous posts about that its only a small performance hit, but all those little small performance hits add up. (otherwise we'd never tweak our ram timings in the 1st place)

So i just chucked all 4 sticks in my backup/2nd pc and grabbed 2 x 1gb sticks for my athlon.

Thanks fo clearing that up for me, i just could never figure out why the post screen called 400mhz DDR333.

(BTW: mine did/does that without a hitch, passed every prime95 and other stress tests i threw at it )
But i still feel im better of with 2 x 1gb sticks at cas3 @ 1t than 4 sticks cas 2.5 @2t.
