Because the 08+ M3 goes for 45k+ still, and these I could buy, chip and get very similar performance with AWD for around 25k-30k.

What is the difference between 07, 08, and 09?

Trim levels and options I believe, I know 08+ have the transmission oil cooler and oil cooler standard on the sport pack. They are all N54 based. They switched to N55 with the midcycle refresh (LED tails, residesigned front, iDrive 2.0, etc)

Transmission oil and engine oil coolers are always great options to have. I would highly suggest getting these.

Actually a little suprised the oil cooler (at a minumum) wasn't there on all models, not just sport models. I suspect folks who drove the 07's hard complained about high oil temps...

Any boosted engine with more than 200hp SHOULD have an engine cooler. When your oil is cooling a engine + turbo, a $100 part to keep the engine oil cool is a no-brainer IMHO.
