Monitor is the Dell 2100FPS (1600x native resolution) so I try to play everything at 1600x. Processor is the DualCore 4200+ not overclocked with 2GB of 2-2-2-6 RAM and SATA2 320GB as boot. Or is it not worth it with my setup?

I know it was worth it for my FX-55 to upgrade from a 7900GT to the 8800GTS/640 but it really depends on what games you play

Current - CSS, ET, BF2, BF2142
Soon - ETQW, Crysis, etc.

I think your 7800GT is a fine card.

I would wait for the new GPU's in November.

I play basically the same games. I didn't notice a huge improvement in Source or 2142 because I could already run at high settings with good fps, but I do see a big difference in the ETQW beta because I could go from med to max settings which makes a big difference of image quality on that game. I got a feeling Crysis will be even harder than ETQW on the video card.

November 12th is the launch date, or at least the end of NDA. G9x series. I'm actually thinking of selling my 8800GTS640 before the value tanks, and live with my 7600GT til then. So, if you can wait 70 days or so, you might save quite a few bucks. 7800GT is a good card.
